What we treat

Six common desert pests, one service

Arizona bark scorpions are genuinely dangerous to kids and pets, and they're built to survive. We treat for them as part of our general pest service.

Why scorpions are different here

The one desert pest you don't want to gamble on.

Most of what we treat for is a nuisance. Bark scorpions are the exception. They are the one desert pest where the risk to kids and pets is real, and they are built to survive conditions that finish off almost everything else out here.

The East Valley suits them. Block walls and irrigated yards give them cover and water, and the gaps around weep holes, garage tracks and door thresholds are wider than a scorpion needs. Pressure climbs when the heat pushes them toward the house, which is why treating for them is part of the general pest visit and not a separate line item.

What makes them hard to keep out

  • They glow under UV light
  • They slip through gaps the width of a credit card
  • They love block walls and irrigated yards

Every visit

What is included, every time

A service visit is not a lap around the house with a wand. It runs the same way at every home we treat, so you always know what you paid for and nothing quietly gets left out.

  • A walk of the property

Before anything gets treated we look at where the pressure is coming from: block walls, irrigation, rock beds and the gaps around doors.

  • Webs and buildup knocked down

Eaves, soffits, porch lights and patio corners get swept so nothing gets a foothold up where you never look.

  • The roofline, not just what we can reach

Second story corners and high soffits get handled with an extension pole instead of being skipped.

  • Entry points treated directly

Weep holes, window and door frames, garage tracks and thresholds. That is the way in, so that is where the work goes.

  • Foundation and block wall bases

The routes scorpions and ants actually travel to reach your house, treated on every visit rather than sprayed past.

  • A clear rundown before we leave

What we treated, what we found and what to watch for. Nothing about your service should be a guess.

Weed control runs on its own schedule with pre and post-emergent treatments for rock, gravel and perimeters. Not sure which one your property needs? Get in touch and we will tell you straight.

Why we built Citrus

We built the company we'd want servicing our own home.

After years running service businesses across the Valley, we got tired of seeing homeowners treated like account numbers: nationals chasing quotas, locals going quiet after the sale. Citrus is the opposite. Show up on time, explain what we're doing and why, and earn your trust. We're Arizona residents too; we know desert pests because we live with them.

Treated like a neighbor, not an account number.

Big companies chase quotas. We show up on time, do the job right, and clearly explain what we're doing and why. It's the service we'd want for our own home.

Why homeowners switch

The part that went missing with the last company

We hear a version of the same story when the phone rings. The national outfit was working a route and a quota. The local company was great right up until the paperwork was signed, then went quiet. Either way the homeowner ended up feeling like an account number instead of a neighbor.

Citrus was built to be the opposite of both, and that is not a slogan. It is a short list of things we decided to do on every home, every visit.

Get in touch
  • We show up when we said we would

On the day we gave you. If something moves on our end, you hear it from us before you have to ask where the truck is.

  • No quota riding on your driveway

Big companies chase numbers, and a route that is running behind tends to show up in the quality of the visit. We take the time your home needs.

  • We do not go quiet after the sale

Signing up is the start of the relationship, not the end of it. Reach out between visits and you get a real answer from us.

  • You hear what we did and why

Every visit ends with the same thing: what got treated, what we found and what changes before we see you next.

  • Arizona residents servicing Arizona homes

Same monsoon season, same block walls, same scorpions in the garage. We know desert pests because we live with them too.

  • The standard we would want at home

Every call comes back to one question: is this how we would want our own house treated? If the answer is no, we do it again.
